Curt Spaugh - Owner/Operator Emprise Air
Curt has been passionate about flying long before his first flight lesson in a beat up old Cessna 150 in 1988. Since then he has piloted numerous makes and models of military and civilian aircraft, and has loved every minute of it.
Curt utilizes his 2008 DiamondStar DA40 XLS for business and pleasure flights all over the country. He has been a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association since 1989.
He holds numerous FAA certifications and ratings including Airline Transport Pilot, with Airplane Single-engine Sea, Single and Multi-engine Land, and Instrument ratings. He is also endorsed to operate high-performance, high-altitude, complex and tailwheel aircraft. Curt is also a Certified Flight Instructor.
Curt stays active flying as a Captain for an America Airlines Regional Carrier, but he still enjoys teaching from time to time, the finer points of flying to students both young and old.
Jamie Clabaugh - Flight Instructor
Jamie Clabaugh has over 8000 hours of flight instruction time. He is a factory-trained Cirrus and factory-trained Diamond instructor with expertise in the Garmin G-1000 as well as the Avidyne systems. Throughout his career as a professional pilot and flight instructor, Jamie has trained hundreds of students and has flown many different types of aircraft. Jamie learned to fly after completing his enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps Recon unit, where he got his start in the instructing field. “I have been a flight instructor here in the Southwest United States for many years now and absolutely love what I do.” says Jamie.
Cathy Stockdale - Flight Instructor
Cathy Stockdale is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, holding two Bachelors degrees in Aviation Sciences. Since graduating in 2008, she has worked as a flight instructor, aircraft supplemental type certificate (STC) and modification salesperson, and Part 135 Grand Canyon tour pilot. She is currently an independent Certified Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII), Certified Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), and a Lead Representative of the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) for the Las Vegas Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). Cathy has conducted over twenty human factors-related safety seminars in the Las Vegas area, earning her FAASTeam Representative of the Year in 2017.
Rob “Boomer” Brandt - Flight Instructor
Rob has been flying for 35 years in both military and civilian capacities. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1981 with a degree in Aerospace & Ocean Engineering, and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management in 1989. He served active duty Air Force in multiple high performance military aircraft, most notably as a Flight Test Engineer. He became a CFI in 2003, retired from the USAF to the Las Vegas valley in 2004 and has been teaching in the Vegas valley since then. He is certified to instruct for ASEL, ASES, AMEL, Glider, and Instrument ratings, as well as provide conventional aircraft and other endorsements. He is a member of AOPA (since 1983), the National Association of Flight Instructors, and is very active in the local General Aviation community.
Michael McQuay - Flight Instructor
Michael McQuay is a graduate of Aerosim Flight Academy (previously known as Delta Connection Academy) where he earned credentials as a Commercial Multi/Single Engine Pilot (COMM MEL/SEL), Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII), and Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI). Michael enjoys preparing and conducting flight instruction to provide students and current pilots with the knowledge and skills to complete biennial flight reviews and private, instrument, and commercial pilot ratings.
